Team Blaze is a 503c7 non-profit organization run by volunteers. These our our board members:
President: Rhiannon Leppert

I joined Team Blaze in 2017, six weeks after the birth of our 5th child. My favorite thing about Team Blaze is the friendships created and the support that comes from teammates. It is an incredible experience to see Team Blaze gear and kits at almost every race event. Whether you are the racer or the supporter, there is no lack of excitement or enthusiasm out on the course in the Team Blaze community. My favorite event is the Cd’A half Ironman. I have a special love for people that are struggling on the course because it isn’t easy for everyone; myself, included. Cheering extra loud and encouraging people who question if they can do this race – both during training and during the race – is my favorite! I believe anyone can, and this is the team to help you train for it! Enjoy the journey!
Vice President: Josh Reighley
I joined Team Blaze in 2022 to improve my swimming, convinced I would always hate running. But this community changes how you see yourself.Surrounded by teammates of all ages and fitness levels giving their best, my imagined limits started to fade. Watching them work convinced me: If they can do it, I can try. Today, I'm a hooked triathlete who learned to run and loves doing hard things. If you are dealing with your own self-doubt, you belong here. At Team Blaze, we show each other every day how "I can't" becomes "I did"

Mentor Program Director: Trever Brown
I believe that doing epic sh*t is the only way to satisfy an endless curiosity for what’s possible. It is the miles that teach you the most about yourself, not the finish line. I’ve mastered the art of turning life’s inevitable lemons into the kind of lemonade that fuels a long haul.
I carry a teacher’s heart and a rebel spirit into everything I do. As a mentor and athlete, my goal is to challenge you to step outside your comfort zone, ensuring you feel completely empowered and safe while you do it. I believe in the power of a well-timed joke during a tough climb and the profound strength found in silent comfort when the road gets long. I find my deepest fulfillment in hearing your stories and helping you cross whatever finish line you’ve set for yourself.
In my role as Mentor Program Director, I serve our team by bridging the gap between ambition and execution. I plan and lead workshops focused on the essentials - performance nutrition, bicycle mechanical survival, and mastering the open water swim. Beyond the technical skills, I focus on the human element, pairing athletes with volunteer mentors who can guide them through the grit of training. I’m here to help you turn your own adversity into an adventure.

One day, the year I turned 50, I had this out-of-nowhere overwhelming urge to run. It hit me with a whammy and didn’t go away.
I discovered the C25k (Couch to 5k) program and began an incredible journey. I completed a 5k, 10k, half marathon and in June 2018
I completed a full marathon. I needed another big goal and I found triathlons and never looked back.
In October 2018 I signed up for adult beginning swim lessons and Team Blaze at the same time!
I’ve completed several sprints and super-sprints. I love Team Blaze because no matter your age, race level or personal goals the members will help, support and cheer you on!
